Are you struggling to get the support you need? Are you scared of asking?
Last week’s theme for me was Giving and Receiving. I got out of my comfort zone many times and saw a few ways where I am not living what I’m preaching around the Contribution Game.
Watch the breakthroughs here:
Leave a comment. Which of the three do you struggle with? Did you have an ah-ha moment? What action steps will you take this week to play in Collaboration and have your energy flow?

Tanya, You are so captivating on camera! I enjoyed this vlog post a lot. I sometimes get caught up in evaluating the difference of what I want and what I have. It’s a nasty habit, and like you said when you don’t appreciate what you have you make it near impossible to create space for more. I am going to up my gratitude this week. Also, genius point about giving people a script for how you would like them to share your events. Thank you!
Soo important. Thank you for sharing.
I recently realized I am great at giving, but not as comfortable at receiving. I’m in a new marketing partnership and we are marketing my program first. Wow, I had to force myself not to back out or push it away, but instead get comfortable with the receiving. It’s been tough, but getting easier.
I have been so grateful for all that is coming to me lately. Not just opportunities, but amazing people who are showing up and offering to collaborate with me and support me. What I have noticed is that getting clear on what I want and need, and asking for it in a non-blaming non-complaining way has led to me being better able to ask for it, and open to receiving it. Thanks for the post!
Tanya, great point about receiving, acknowledging the receiving, and expressing gratitude. Like Laurie E. above, I also am more inclined to give and need to pay conscious attention to asking for support and feeling the receiving energy. Great reminders!
Loved the video Tanya! I need to focus on a few points you made, but the “Make the Ask” segment stuck out for me….ASK! And then give people the tools they need to help support you. Great stuff!
xo, Tina
Hi Tanya, There are so many juicy topics here. So often we feel we’re alone, but we’re not! People just need to know how they can help us. I used your advice on asking today and it was great
I appreciate your message on speaking up, asking, expressing gratitude, money…all of it! xo.
Thanks for the call to action! I will focus on ‘making the ask’ specifically making it very simple for people to complete my request (in a way that honors them and my request). I do think this is an area where I’ve grown a lot, however there’s room for getting more comfortable when I hear a ‘no’ and moving on! Also just have to mention the wonderful Barbara Stanny re: #3 – her work is amazing and it’s lifelong learning getting clear on receiving (unlimited) abundance!
Wow…that physical description you gave about how you felt when making the ask was right on! I tend toward the giving side (as so many of the others who posted here said as well) so that asking feels awkward but that spin on “play with me” – perfect!
Plus, I loved the way you wrapped up the vlog with a call to action. I get so much out of your videos – thank you!
Tanya, so many goodies in this short video – wow! A couple of years ago, while being coached by Sandy Grason I did a very similar exercise on finding the exact amount I wanted/needed to feel comfortable/happy and it had to cover all the things that I wanted to do, buy etc… It wasn’t easy, but oh so liberating and actually, when I tallied everything up the $$$ was a LOT less than what I originally thought. Great exercise, because it also allows you to get very clear on the type of business model that is perfect for you. Man, having clarity on what you want makes everything so much easier.
Every night at dinner time, we go around the table and say what we are grateful for that day, I do this to teach my seven yr old to be more grateful for all that he has, but lately we’ve been so busy that we haven’t done it in a few weeks, this post reminded me we need to start doing that again. Powerful message & reminder, Tanya!
Great reminders Tanya. Especially in being clear when asking for help. Love the tip to include the exact words for Facebook post (and twitter too). I’ve been trying this in the past several months, and people even thank me for “helping them promote me”. How fun is that! Being open to receiving, and having clarity on what you truly desire (or need to feel comfortable) has made a world of difference in my life so many times. When I break it down, and name it, it’s funny how that exact amount shows up almost effortlessly. It’s the times when I’m unclear that money is “all over the map”. Great reminders! Loralee
It’s SO true that you have to be open to receive in order to receive MORE – sometimes we are so focused on what we don’t have, that’s all we can see. But when you open yourself up to the possibilities, you gain so much more! Thank you for this video, as always, very insightful.
Love these points, Tanya. Great nuggets to really work with NOW in the midst of all I am creating. Really appreciate “Make the Ask”, as I will be in this position soon of needing that support from my tribe and hadn’t thought it through to this degree, so very excited about this!
Interesting that on Autumn Equinox I felt the absolute necessity to reaallly see my riches and resources and express gratitude for all the love and people and creative wealth I have. Once I did that, I KNOW that I am an extremely wealthy woman. I am going to do this regularly… as riches beget riches. Unfortunately, our culture is stuck on that “6 & 7 figure income” as reflecting wealth and such an important thing to strive for. Its sad.
Lifestyle design is where its at! LOVE THAT!
Thank you, Tanya, for this wealth!
xoxo
