About Julie Schmitz – Creator, founder of JLS Designs and creator of MyTensils
With a passion for conscious living and style, Julie set out on a search for a set of travel utensils that were convenient, well designed, lightweight and sustainable. Her search produced zero matches for utensils but a 100% match in a market opportunity that spoke to Julie’s passion and desire to create a business that would make a difference. Julie jumped into action and created the patented and portable utensil product; which is now MyTensils. The initial product was a natural hemp case with titanium utensils. As word-of-mouth spread, she made her unique portable travel case of titanium utensils available in other variations to suit any traveler’s specific needs or style preference.

Imagine Being- Claiming Responsibility for YOUR Future
July 15, 2010
By: Kristin Andress, Co-Author and Speaker Imagine Being in a Life You Love!
It is never too late to imagine being. If you want to be an active
participant in your life—to become the person that you have always wanted to
be—then consider those you love (including yourself) and declare your
initial intention:
I will participate in my own life. It is MY life.
“It just seems out of control and I want someone to blame.”
This past year was a perfect example of that. In 2009, the anguished cries
of millions of people could be heard amid the deepening recession that
wrapped itself around the globe.
o Recession? Blame the government.
o Housing foreclosures? Blame the banks.
o Astronomical medical costs? Blame the insurance companies.
o Unemployment? Blame big business.
It’s all too easy to blame others for the crises in our lives. Yes, we are,
at times, at the mercy of those in whom we place our trust. Yet, while we
have the right to feel frustrated and angry for their wrongdoings and
mismanagement—and outright greed—we cannot fully assign blame to them for
all the bad that has manifested itself in our lives.
Responsibility for our well-being must lie with each of us.
To take back your life, you must imagine being the cause of what takes place
in it—and across your entire lifetime. In order to access the life you truly
imagine, you must first assess your current life to determine what role you
have—or have not—played in taking responsibility for it. You must:
Realize and accept that you alone must be responsible for your life.
Most of us will have eighty years in this world. During that time, there
will be any number of choices and decisions for which we must be
responsible. You can certainly ask someone else to choose your direction,
yet, even then, you are responsible for having asked. Each day, you have an
opportunity to own your life. Accepting and embracing your responsibility is
the first step toward realizing the results—or consequences—of action or
inaction, choice or lack thereof. This responsibility is ultimately on you.
Become clear regarding exactly what you must be responsible for
The bottom line is that you are responsible for the good, the bad, and the
ugly. There is as much grace in celebrating your good as there is in taking
ownership of your not-so good. Your responsibilities are founded on choice
and decision. This can pertain to how you behave, what you do/don’t do, who
you spend time with, what you say/don’t say, what you eat/don’t eat, whether
you work out, how you feel, and so forth. As you assess where you are in
your life, identify precisely where you need to step in and be more
responsible.
Assess who you need to communicate with about your responsibility.
Whether it is to clear up the past or to ensure you are cleared to take
ownership of the future, you must come clean with proclaiming your
responsibility for the many aspects of your life. Even in arguments with
loved ones, you have responsibility—even if shared. With coworkers, you may
disagree or agree to disagree, and the outcome of doing so rests on your
shoulders. As you take ownership, it is freeing to let others know you have
made this conscious choice. In doing so, you rally supporters or you
institute a measure of accountability.
Accept and forgive yourself for previous shortcomings.
We all have them—shortcomings. They present themselves in our ability to
manage our time, our tempers, and even our oversights. We too often beat
ourselves up for our shortcomings, when what we could be doing is learning
from our mistakes and developing our abilities. Assess where you have not
quite measured up. Decide to forgive yourself, and do better next time.
Ensure you learn so you don’t repeat the same mistakes. Mistakes are
commonplace in life. Mistakes happen every day. They can be embarrassing and
they can negatively impact our confidence. However, they are necessary to
help us learn and grow. We certainly don’t know everything when we enter or
exit this world. It is a perpetual process of creating our knowledge base
that enables us to make better and better choices.
Acknowledge your mistakes—how they were caused and what can be changed to
avoid a recurrence. As our knowledge grows regarding what we can cause
through taking ownership of our responsibilities, we also learn how we can
teach others to do the same.
Access the Life You Imagine
The truth is, if you do not accept your responsibility for being the cause
of the outcomes in your life, the dissonance will fester, grow, and follow
you across time until you deal with it. As much as accepting responsibility
for being the cause in your life can be complicated, it does feel good to
realize that the possibility to “cause” rests squarely with you. In these
times, more so then ever before, it is time to take responsibility so you
can access the life you imagine. It is time to be the cause. Your life is
yours, and you have the power to choose between taking responsibility for it
or leaving it to others who may not know what you truly want in life.

“trUe is a wake up for women who are burned out, stressed out and exhausted. It allows you to connect with your true self so you can be free and fully self-expressed.”

“Taking trUe enabled me to release things that were no longer serving me and to create a present and future that I am deserving of surrounded by amazing women.”
“trUe is the feminine version of the Landmark Forum.”
“If you are looking to connect with your passion, your heart, and with other amazing women, the True Course is where you want to be.
I have done a lot of self-development work but had been struggling with my thyroid and my adrenal glands, which were out of alignment. I felt uncreative and just physically and emotionally exhausted. The last thing I wanted was yet another course, but Cynthia said something to me that shifted everything for me: “Tanya, your adrenal glands and your thyroid are telling you something: you are burned out and using your masculine energy, which is causing you to be out of alignment with your feminine.” I signed up immediately for the course.
During the course, I wrote more than I had in 6 weeks than in the past 2 years. I finally tapped into that creativity center that felt buried for years. I felt alive, peaceful and energized. I learned some new tools that now help me stay centered and focused instead of burned out and exhausted. And most of all, I was able to connect with other women who helped me along the way and will continue to be in my life after the course.
This course is a wake up for women who are burned out, stressed out and exhausted. It allows you to connect with your true self so you can be free and fully self-expressed. Thank you Cynthia, Stephanie and Micole! You ladies are a gift from the universe!”
- Tanya Paluso, Teacher and Founder of Tribal Truth

Crystal Simpson
July 10, 2010
Crystal Swass-Simpson is a stay-at-home mom with dreams bigger than one can imagine. Her ideas of being a fashion designer began when she was just a child living with her grandmother who was a seamstress at the time. As a child and young adult, her only passion was to use her talents to create a life for herself and help others in the process.
Born with the gift of art and creativity, she decided to attend the Art Institute of Ft. Lauderdale. At the age of 26, Crystal received her Associate of Science degree in Fashion Design. She graduated with honors and began the school’s first blanket charity drive to help students earn graduation credit hours while helping sick children at the Joe DiMaggio Children’s Hospital. This was the beginning not only of her charity work and career but it was the beginning of her family as well.
Her daughter, Mikayla Jade was 19 months old when Crystal graduated with her degree and her son, Maddox Colt was born just two months after. The birth of her children was a blessing but with it came the birth of an idea. That idea was Kisses & Couture; an idea created just to bring in extra cash by using her design ability which has grown into a business. She also created the Traveling Angel Program, which is meant to help children within the foster care system by giving a sense of hope.
For every couture handbag purchased, Kisses & Couture donates a tote bag to a “traveling angel” to use in their travels as they are moved from home to home. Kisses & Couture handbags and baby items speak for themselves. They are unique and chic. They are custom created and every detail is stitched with love. But with every stitch comes the love of giving to others.
“The purpose of life is to experience, joy, love and abundance; to give to others and to, above all, give thanks” This is Crystal’s way of giving thanks for all of the blessings God has given to her. It is the responsibility of every business owner and adult to care for those children who have been forgotten. Crystal hopes that by spreading love and sharing it with others, more people will learn that you must give in order to receive and that it will always pay off to “pay-it-forward”. This is where her story begins…and she hopes to one day make history.

BELIEVE IN YOURSELF
(SUCCESS STRATEGY)
“Stay in activity, work on yourself and train others to do the same.”
If you are reading my Eye on Arbonne story now, it is by no accident. You are exactly where you are supposed to be.
My story begins in February 2005 when I was invited by my close friend, Bonnie Adkins, to her business launch. At the launch, ENVP Barbara Beaty started asking me probing questions. I anticipated where she was headed and literally put up my hand and told her to stop; I had no time nor interest in the business. Professionally, I was already making well over a six-figure income as a mortgage lender. Personally, I was extensively involved in community service as a minister performing weddings, officiating at funerals and teaching meditation. My plate was quite full and I felt content with my life.
Thankfully, ENVP Barbara Beaty asked the right questions and found out my Why. I simply was starting to dislike the mortgage business and my retirement portfolio was extremely lean. Being on the board of the Kiwani’s and “Michelle’s Place”, a breast cancer research group I found my pockets weren’t deep enough to give what was financially needed. As Barbara shared the Arbonne opportunity and the potential to build up a significant nest egg, I was hooked. By the end of the Presentation, I found myself scheduling two business Presentations. I promoted to AM September 1st and went into qualification for RVP in November, 2005. When January 31, 2006, rolled around and I had not reached my goal, I was discouraged. I had been doing everything I thought possible to build my business, while at the same time working on my personal growth and helping others on my team do the same, but it was not leading me to where
I wanted to be. That is when Barbara Beaty told me to relax, enjoy the ride and have faith. I let go from deep within myself. No longer was I invested in the outcome, instead I allowed myself to believe and trust in the inevitability of my success. Instead of turning it over to God and then continually taking it back, I just simply left it to Him to direct me where He wanted me to go.
By 8 p.m. on February 28, 2006, I was in first-step qualification for Region. Why was reaching and completing my Regional Vice President goal so important? It was important to show others that it was possible. After all, how could I help others reach their goal, if I could not reach mine? I would like to express my gratitude to all my spiritual teachers, who taught me and continue to guide and direct me. They helped me to realize my strengths, which I continue to build upon. God’s presence in my life continues to lift me up. I always knew I was here to help guide others, as I have been guided, and to help them find their own truths, which will ultimately empower them on their path. I did not realize at the start of my journey how God was using me as an example to my team. Never give up. It is not about the completion of a goal, but who we become along the way.
Fast forward to the present:
It’s amazing when you get to do your life’s work. For some Arbonne is a vehicle that enables people to do what they were meant to do.To live their passion, while helping others to do the same. I’m now able to give more of myself as a healer and Minister. For me Arbonne is my passion.I get to help others discover how great they are, while developing a closer relationship with their own source.
Partnering with my ego
July 9, 2010
The achievement of anything that you desire must be considered success, whether it is a trophy or money or relationships, or things. But if you will let your standard of success be your achievement of joy—everything else will fall easily into place. For in the finding of joy, you are finding vibrational alignment with the resources of the Universe.
— Abraham
Excerpted from the book “The Law of Attraction, The Basics of the Teachings of Abraham”
Partnering with our ego is a delicate dance that can be learned and experienced with grace by utilizing our power of awareness. Although it is often thought of in a negative light, ego serves a crucial purpose to our life experience and personal growth, as it aids in anchoring our goals and passions through claiming our individuality. Think of ego as a neutral party, a moderator among three things: our instincts and desires, our conscience and morals, and the external world. There is a constant attempt by our ego to please all three simultaneously. As we manifest our desires, be they material things, a relationship, a new job, a hot fudge sundae with extra sprinkles (how big or small is of no consequence), it is important to bring detachment into the process. Doing so tends to clear self-imposed obstacles that can interfere with happiness and joy as we move throughout our lives.
Detachment is not indifference. It is the practice of inner calm through observation (awareness) without emotion or cognitive involvement. When we manifest something we desire, by thinking, speaking, or writing it, we need to avoid getting caught up in a game plan of the how, when, what, and where those manifestations should take place. The untamed ego can succumb readily to ‘shoulding’, serving only to create suffering as it takes us against the universal current. We need to learn to let go of how things should be and embrace what is. Trust that the universe is looking out for your best interest.
Trust that the universe is looking out for your best interest. This is an ego taming lesson that I have recently been reminded of in a grand way. My hope is that by sharing the story with my Tribe sisters, it will help you understand the balance between the power and usefulness of your ego, and the personal practice of awareness and detachment as a method to continue with joy and forward momentum throughout your life’s journey.
Six months ago, I lost my boyfriend to cancer. During his battle, & certainly in the months since, I have had many moments of cursing the unfairness of it all. For my own personal loss of course, but also because he was an incredible, inspiring, beautiful man who was a gift in the lives of many. I understood that there were life lessons to be learned as I was witness to his very personal experience of transitioning out of this earthly world, but in my most emotional, gut-wrenching moments of suffering, I struggled to understand why it had to be ‘this way’. We were just beginning to make plans for our future when he became symptomatic. Less than five months later, he was gone. It was humbling to see, as I awoke the day after his passing, and each day since, that the sun continues to rise. Life carries on, despite the fact that my life, as I had become attached to it, had been shattered into a million pieces. Ego. My pain. My loss. My suffering.
My years spent practicing meditation and cultivating a life of awareness and mindfulness was put to the test. My life has been forever changed, but it is with a grateful and open heart that I embrace the experience. I allow myself a sacred space for my ego to become untamed as it grieves, vents, screams, and cries. I tune in to the messages my ego sends me, and then bring my ego back in check by drawing attention to my breath, and then to my very soul essence. I, like each of you, am a part of the big universal picture. Each of us has a purpose, and it is not up to us to decide how that purpose manifests itself. Engaging in the dance between my ego and my universal calling, I can see the beauty, grace, & incredible blessings in my boyfriend’s cancer & death. I harness those blessings and use them to propel me forward and to tune in deeper to the opportunities that are being presented to me along this new life path. There has never been a more humbling, magnificently beautiful experience for me.
Each of us is meant to ebb and flow, learn and grow from life events. Pain is a necessary part of life, but suffering is not. Begin to cultivate awareness and detachment as you embark on your sistership circles and every other venue of your daily life. Wishing all of you life filled with purpose, passion, power, and play.
Love and Namaste,
Jeanne Penton
